August 2025: NHPI Women’s Equal Pay Day & More
NHPI Women’s Equal Pay Day
August 28th was Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (NHPI) Women’s Equal Pay Day. Each year, the date that this Equal Pay Day is observed is determined by the most recent data on the average NHPI woman’s income compared to the average white non-Hispanic man. This year, it was held on August 28th, the 240th day of the year to represent the amount of additional days that NHPI women need to work in order to catch up to the earnings of the average white non-Hispanic man.
